Chazz Malott is a freelance lighting designer and software engineer based in Chicago.  He grew up just outside of Ann Arbor and attended the University of Michigan to study engineering and pursue his passion for design.  Working his way up from shop staff Chazz became one of the few non-majors at U of M to ever design for main stage university shows and was the first student to graduate with the newly created Design and Production minor.  His senior year design for Don Giovanni won region III at KCACTF and took him to D.C. where he won the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center fellowship.  After spending the summer in Connecticut he moved to Chicago where he has worked with Lookingglass, Provision Theater, Motown on Tour, Pride Films and Plays and others.
